Dr. Laureano Giraldez

Dr. Laureano Giráldez-Rodríguez, serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Puerto Rico in the Section of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. He then graduated from the School of Medicine of the University of Puerto Rico with Honors, and completed a residency in Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Giráldez-Rodríguez then specialized in voice, swallowing and airway disorders at the prestigious Emory Voice Center in Atlanta, Georgia. His passion for otorhinolaryngologic diseases led him to complete a second subspecialty in Head and Neck Cancer, Transoral Robotic Surgery (TORS) and Microvascular Reconstruction in the Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

Dr. Giráldez has been a national and international speaker at numerous academic meetings. He has published a significant number of articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Giráldez – Rodríguez is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the Puerto Rican Society of Otolaryngology, and was recently admitted as a candidate member of the Selective American Bronchoesophagological Association (ABEA).
