About
Dr. Vladimir Lakhter is an interventional cardiologist at the Temple Heart & Vascular Institute and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. He specializes in the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of cardiovascular and vascular conditions, with particular expertise in coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). After earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Lakhter completed his residency, cardiovascular disease fellowship, and interventional cardiology fellowship at Temple University Hospital, followed by advanced training in vascular medicine and endovascular intervention at Massachusetts General Hospital.
A recognized leader in venous thromboembolic disease, Dr. Lakhter focuses on developing and advancing catheter-based therapies that improve outcomes for patients with acute and chronic blood clots. His clinical and research work has contributed to innovative treatments for pulmonary embolism, including participation in landmark studies evaluating novel endovascular technologies designed to rapidly restore blood flow and reduce strain on the heart.
