Aline Charabaty-Pishvaian is a gastroenterologist and nationally recognized expert in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), currently serving as Clinical Director of the GI Division and Director of the IBD Center at Johns Hopkins-Sibley Memorial Hospital. An Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Charabaty specializes in the treatment of complex Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, with a clinical focus on multidisciplinary, patient-centered digestive health care. After completing her residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital, she spent more than a decade building and leading Georgetown’s IBD program before joining Johns Hopkins in 2019.

Beyond her clinical practice, Aline Charabaty-Pishvaian has become a leading voice in gastroenterology education, digital innovation, and patient advocacy. Dr. Charabaty is the founder of “MondayNightIBD,” a widely recognized social media education platform that brings clinicians together to discuss challenging IBD cases while also helping patients better understand their disease and treatment options. Her work in medical education and advocacy has earned national recognition, including the Healio Gastroenterology Disruptive Innovator Award and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation Excellence in Medicine Award. In addition to serving in leadership roles with the ACG and AGA, Dr. Charabaty is a strong advocate for health equity and mentorship in medicine and co-founded “Scrubs & Heels,” an initiative focused on empowering women in gastroenterology leadership.
