She currently serves as Deputy Associate Chief of Staff for Education at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, where she leads initiatives to strengthen safety culture, improve clinical learning environments, and drive sustainable system-wide improvement. Throughout her career, including more than a decade in leadership roles at Virginia Commonwealth University Health, Dr. Brooks has championed high-value care, faculty development, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with a focus on creating safer care environments, empowering healthcare teams, and aligning education with meaningful clinical outcomes.
