Dr. Amna Shabbir is a physician coach, speaker, and well-being advocate based in Raleigh, North Carolina, whose work centers on helping healthcare professionals build sustainable and fulfilling careers. A former practicing geriatrician and internist, she transitioned from clinical medicine into physician coaching after recognizing the widespread impact of burnout, perfectionism, and chronic stress within the medical field. Today, she is best known as the founder of the Early Career Physicians Institute and Amna Shabbir Wellness Coaching, where she works with physicians and healthcare leaders on mindset, resilience, leadership development, and work-life integration.
Through coaching programs, workshops, and speaking engagements, Dr. Shabbir helps clinicians navigate career transitions, imposter syndrome, and professional identity beyond traditional measures of success in medicine. Her approach combines her medical background with certifications in health and wellness coaching and professional life coaching, allowing her to support physicians from both a clinical and personal development perspective. In addition to her coaching practice, she serves as an ambassador for the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes Foundation and contributes to physician well-being initiatives focused on improving clinician retention, mental health, and long-term career satisfaction.
