About
Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate studies and medical school at the University of Virginia. He received comprehensive residency training at the University of Miami, where he had the honor of serving as chief resident. During his residency, he completed an externship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and gained experience with brachytherapy as a treatment modality for prostate cancer.
He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts and presented at clinical symposiums on the topics of gastrointestinal cancer, genitourinary cancers, gynecologic cancers, thoracic cancer, head and neck cancer, and central nervous system malignancies. Additionally, Dr. Patel served concurrent terms as a peer reviewer for Head and Neck and the British Journal of Radiology.
Dedicated to the training and development of medical students, Dr. Patel was appointed by the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) board of directors as liaison to radiation oncology residents and fellows from 2019 to 2021, and he has served as an invited lecturer with the University of Miami William J. Harrington Medical Training Program for Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining FCS, Dr. Patel was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of South Florida. He remains committed to advancing cancer care through medical education.
