Dr. Sullivan actively practices both law and emergency medicine. The main focus of his practice is on medical contract review and representation of providers in front of the Illinois State Medical Board. In his free time Dr. Sullivan lecture and write articles about medicolegal topics.
Dr. Sullivan has been a senior editor at Emergency Physician’s Monthly magazine since 2014 and he was on the editorial board for the ED Legal Letter between 2002 and 2021 (after which it ceased publication). He is a member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. Dr. Sullivan is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
