Life After Litigation: Part One
Although you might expect life to go back to 'normal' as soon as the litigation process is complete, it often doesn't work that way. Lingering distress, if left unaddressed, can lead to behaviors like over-documenting or over-testing, avoidance of certain procedures or case types, PTSD symptoms, disillusionment, burnout, and career abandonment.

Margaret Paccione, PhD, has more than 35 years of experience in supervisory and administrative positions as well as extensive experience with trauma patients and managing trauma-related service environments.
As a licensed psychologist, teacher and rehabilitation specialist, Dr. Paccione is the director of clinical innovation for Bradley Hospital and is an assistant professor (clinical) of the department of psychiatry and human behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Previously, Dr. Paccione served as director of the department of behavioral education and as the hospital’s psychologist manager and director of residential services.
Her former positions include regional administrator for behavioral health services in the Delaware correctional system, director of the department of psychiatry and human behavior for Southern Chester County Medical Center in Pennsylvania; program director, Drug and Alcohol Services Division of Life Guidance Services, also in Pennsylvania; and chief of clinical services at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in New York. She also has worked with military organizations and received FBI training in trauma services.
Dr. Paccione has managed multisite, multiservice programs in the not-for-profit sector, has directed her own private practice/consulting corporation and worked in the private, for-profit behavioral sector. She has published in the areas of both mental health and substance abuse.
