About

Allegra joined GRŌ as an SLP in June 2021, to join her aunt, Betsy Sullivan. She became the owner of the practice in June 2022. She moved to Bozeman from Boston, MA where she received her master’s degree from Massachusetts General Hospital’s Institute of Health Professions. During her time in graduate school she worked inpatient at Boston Children’s Hospital on their feeding and swallowing team and outpatient in their Down syndrome clinic and airway clinic. After graduating she stayed in Boston and worked in early intervention with children birth-3 years old and later, in a private pediatric neurological and physical habilitation clinic. During her time working in private practice she worked with medically complex children including those with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, seizure disorders, Angelman syndrome, Pitt Hopkins, STXBP1 and Kleefstra syndrome.

She is passionate about working with medically complex children, utilizing total communication methods and strategies, and has extensive experience with a variety of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices including eye-gaze-activated speech-generated devices. She is also passionate about pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. She holds certifications and has extensive training in the Sequential Oral-Motor Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding and neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) for pediatric swallowing disorders including dysphagia and aspiration risks. She is currently the only listed provider for NMES treatment for pediatric dysphagia in Montana. She is certified as a Qualified Orofacial Myologist (QOM) working with children and adults on feeding, swallowing, and speech disorders.
