Dr. Bharat Panuganti is an otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon who specializes in laryngotracheal and hypopharyngeal (voice and airway) surgery. He serves on the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. His clinical and research interests focus on advancing the surgical management of early laryngeal cancers, restoring voice function, and performing both endoscopic and open airway reconstruction.


Originally from California, Dr. Bharat Panuganti has lived and worked throughout the United States during his education, training, and professional career. He completed specialized training under Dr. Steven Zeitels at Massachusetts General Hospital, an internationally renowned laryngeal surgeon, where he gained extensive experience in complex, high-stakes laryngeal surgery. His diverse training and professional experiences have reinforced his commitment to the traditional principles of medicine: building meaningful relationships with patients, practicing with persistence and honesty, and continuously advancing the field through surgical innovation.
