About

Dr. Matthew Brigger, MD, MPH, is a medical professional, chief of the Division of Otolaryngology, and Medical Director of the Aerodigestive Program at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego and a professor of surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Dr. Brigger’s primary clinical interests are problems/diseases of the upper aerodigestive tract, and he specializes in care for patients with ear, nose, throat, neck and airway disorders. His clinical practice focuses on surgical management of child patients with breathing and swallowing disorders.

Dr. Brigger was named a 2015 Cochrane Scholar of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery for his commitment to evidence-based medicine. His research areas include investigating the epidemiology of disease and evaluating treatment outcomes for various strategies in caring for children with breathing and swallowing disorders. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed studies and has presented at both national and international meetings.
