About

Amit Gupta, MD, is a cardiothoracic radiologist and Modality Director of Diagnostic Radiography at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He also serves as Division Chief for Cardiothoracic Imaging at UH and Associate Professor of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He also has joint appointments in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University.


Dr. Gupta is a passionate educator and the recipient of multiple teaching awards. A large concentration of his work involves the understanding and utilization of new imaging techniques, modalities and software for image interpretation. These include spectral detector computed tomography (CT), 3-dimensional printing, radiomics, positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).


Dr. Gupta has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has presented his research at national and international meetings. He has been involved in building and validating novel artificial intelligence (AI) based methodologies, to better lung cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment response prediction, management of critical findings in ICU settings, and improving cardiovascular care. His present work focuses on methods to improve adoption and streamlining the integration of AI algorithms into routine clinical practice at University Hospitals.
