About
Dr. Amir Lavaf is a Radiation Oncologist and the Medical Director of the Clinical Oncology Research Program at the Comprehensive Cancer Center for the Desert Care Network in Palm Springs. He joined the Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2013 from Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in New York City. His training in New York also involved working in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Lavaf received advanced brachytherapy training at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, as well as the University of California, Los Angeles. He trained in cutting edge stereotactic radiotherapy techniques with Cyberknife®, True Beam® and Gamma Knife® at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Lavaf completed his internship at State University of New York Downstate, and post-doctoral research fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Lavaf’s research interests and expertise include CNS, prostate, head and neck, and lung malignancies.
