About Dr. Emad Mikhail
Dr Mikhail is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon. He specializes in advanced laparoscopy and complex pelvic surgery, with a special interest in complex endometriosis. Dr. Mikhail pioneered the multidisciplinary treatment approach for complex deep infiltrating endometriosis partnering with colorectal surgery, reconstructive urology and thoracic surgery team members. Dr. Mikhail completed his AAGL fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine in 2016. He has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts regarding different aspects of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and has presented to national and international audiences. His clinical/research interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and advanced endometriosis.

However, while hysterectomy can be effective for conditions like adenomyosis or significant cyclic pain, it does not address endometriosis outside the uterus.
