Dr. Rebecca A. Snyder, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.S., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology and holds a joint appointment in Health Services Research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She is a board-certified surgical oncologist with specialized fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology and a clinical focus on pancreatic cancer care. Dr. Snyder earned her medical degree and Master of Public Health from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate studies in molecular biology at Princeton University. Her postgraduate training includes a clinical fellowship at MD Anderson and residency training in general surgery, complemented by a research fellowship in quality improvement.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Snyder is a dedicated researcher and leader in cancer care delivery and clinical trials, with particular emphasis on improving access, equity, and outcomes for diverse patient populations. She serves in prominent roles within national collaborative networks such as the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, contributing to study design and health disparities research, and holds leadership roles in professional surgical societies. Her scholarly work spans peer-reviewed scientific research and narrative medicine essays published in high-impact journals, reflecting her commitment to both scientific rigor and the human dimensions of cancer care. Dr. Snyder’s leadership extends to service on editorial boards and funded research aimed at addressing structural barriers to cancer treatment and enhancing clinical trial diversity.
