About

Dr. Sara Nunnery is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Tennessee Oncology, where she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and other complex malignancies. She completed her medical degree at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of California San Francisco. She then pursued fellowship training in hematology and medical oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Nunnery is deeply engaged in research and academic medicine, serving as an Assistant Professor at the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center and contributing to advancements in breast cancer treatment and biomarker-driven therapies. Her work includes numerous peer-reviewed publications and participation in innovative clinical research aimed at improving outcomes for patients. Known for her patient-centered approach, she combines cutting-edge oncology care with clear, compassionate communication to help patients navigate complex cancer diagnoses and treatment decisions.
