Dr. Glenn Werneburg

Dr. Glenn Werneburg is a urologist and physician-scientist specializing in functional urology, neurourology, bladder dysfunction, and urologic infections. He is an Assistant Professor of Urology and Microbiology & Immunology at Stony Brook University and a Principal Investigator in the Center for Infectious Diseases. Dr. Werneburg completed his MD and PhD through the Stony Brook University Medical Scientist Training Program, followed by urology residency at Cleveland Clinic and fellowship training at the University of Michigan. His translational research focuses on the host-pathogen interactions underlying urinary tract infections, including recurrent and catheter-associated UTIs, as well as the urinary microbiome, bacterial biofilms, and bladder physiology. His work also explores the use of emerging technologies, including machine learning, to improve the diagnosis and treatment of urologic conditions and translate laboratory discoveries into better patient care.
