About
Dr. Ashwani “Ash” Sastry is an interventional cardiologist with extensive experience in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia, and venous disease as well as cardiovascular disease. He is triple board certified in cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, and endovascular medicine. He completed his cardiology training at the Duke University Medical Center, where he won the Walter Floyd Fellowship “Best Fellow of the Year” award. He completed his training in interventional cardiology and endovascular intervention at the Center for Interventional and Vascular Therapy at Columbia University. He returned to Duke University as Assistant Professor of Medicine in Cardiology where he taught interventional cardiology trainees at the Duke University Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and single-handedly built a program for limb salvage and the treatment of critical limb ischemia at a Duke Lifepoint Hospital. He has worked extensively with the FDA office of device evaluation in providing advice and recommendations on the safety and effectiveness of novel vascular and cardiac devices. He holds multiple patents for vascular and cardiac devices.
