About
Dr. Dan DePietro is an interventional radiologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He grew up in Farmingdale, New York, on Long Island, and now lives and works in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. DePietro specializes in image-guided, minimally invasive procedures, which means he uses advanced imaging like X-rays, CT scans, and ultrasound to treat medical conditions without large incisions. These approaches often lead to less pain, shorter recovery times, and fewer complications for patients. His clinical practice focuses on treating primary and metastatic cancers of the liver, as well as performing procedures involving the bile ducts, gallbladder, and gastrointestinal tract, while also providing a wide range of interventional radiology treatments throughout the body.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. DePietro is deeply involved in medical education. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology and teaches at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves as a co-course director and director of the radiology curriculum for first-year medical students in the anatomy course.
Dr. DePietro earned his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Lehigh University in 2013, with a focus on biomechanics and biomaterials. He then attended the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2017.
