About Dr. Emmett Lynskey

Dr. Emmett Lynskey is the co-founder and chief medical officer of National Vascular Physicians, a practice designed by him and his co-founder Dr. Kim to provide personalized care and the most advanced minimally invasive treatments to patients in the outpatient setting.

Emmett Lynskey is an accomplished Interventional Radiologist having spent the better part of the last decade educating residents and fellows as an Assistant Professor at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. After medical school and internship at Georgetown University Hospital, he completed a Diagnostic Radiology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, followed by fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital.

Dr. Lynskey shares a passion for education and superb patient care with his partner Dr. Alex Kim with whom he has worked since 2012. He has won numerous awards for teaching, service and excellence including Special Procedures Attending of the Year on three occasions, Distinguished Service Awards to the department of Radiology, Georgetown Hospital Associate of the Month and he is a regular on the Washingtonian Top Doc’s List.

Dr. Lynskey is board certified in both Diagnostic and Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He has presented numerous papers and spoken as an invited lecturer at numerous local, national and international meetings. He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, a Board Examiner for the American Board of Radiology, and an inductee into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Lynskey founded National Vascular Physicians with Dr. Kim to bring greater access to the most advanced, personalized, top level care that is unbound from the typical frustrations of the hospital setting. His philosophy of care comes from his experience both as a patient and from treating thousands of patients at their most vulnerable times in life. He believes that treating his patients as if they were his own family and spending the time necessary to give a clear explanation of all the options leads to the best outcomes for patients and families.

Dr. Lynskey particularly enjoys spending time with his wife and three young sons as they raise their family in the DC Metro Area.
