About
Dr. Gómez Muñoz is the lead consultant in interventional radiology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute (Amsterdam) and coordinates the pediatric interventional oncology at the Hospital Clinic-Hospital Sant Joan de Deu consortium in Barcelona. Together with a multidisciplinary team, he established a pioneering ablation program for several pediatric malignancies including primary and secondary tumors in lung, liver and bone.
Dr. Gómez Muñoz graduated from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, specialising in radiology at the Hospital Universitario y Politécnico La Fe (Valencia). He is also a PhD graduate from the Universidad de Valencia. He was awarded at CIRSE grant for training in pediatric interventional radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is an active member on the board of directors of the Society for Pediatric Interventional Radiology (SPIR), member of the scientific board of the Spanish Society for Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (SERVEI) and co-chair of the Task Force for Artificial Intelligence in Interventional radiology in the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE). Currently, he is working on several research projects on the combination of locoregional techniques and immunotherapy and artificial intelligence intelligence and radiomics.
