About
Dr. Ian Wilson is an assistant professor in the Department of Imaging Sciences at the School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is also the cofounder of the Synthesis Collaborative, a nonprofit organization that supports two initiatives: WALL\THERAPY, a local street-art festival, and IMPACT! (Improving Access to Care by Teleradiology), a medical-philanthropy organization.
Dr. Wilson received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Xavier University of Louisiana and came to the University of Rochester to pursue his medical degree. After an internship at New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, he returned to the School of Medicine and Dentistry to complete a residency in diagnostic radiology and fellowships in interventional radiology.
In 2006, he was made a departmental fellow in imaging sciences and was appointed an assistant professor in 2007. He has served on Highland Hospital’s Medical Executive Committee since 2010 and is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, and the Society of Interventional Radiology. In addition to presenting at international and national conferences, he has had his work published in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology and is the author of three chapters of Interventional Radiology Secrets.
