About
John M. Racadio, MD, is the director of the Interventional Radiology Translational Research and Simulation Lab (IR-TRSL). Its core functions include: 1) Conducting original research in new methods and applications of current and emerging Interventional Radiology (IR) technologies for minimally invasive image guided therapy for all patient populations. 2) Providing consultation and access to advanced imaging and IR techniques for researchers and industry clients. 3) Educating and training researchers, clinicians, fellows and students in the use of IR imaging technologies and image guided therapy techniques. As the director of Interventional Radiology Research and Innovation, he has partnered with the Department of Surgery to plan, develop, and build a new Image Guided Hybrid OR at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The technology and capabilities of this clinical Hybrid OR mirror those of the IR-TRSL. Through a collaborative approach between Interventional Radiology and Surgery, Dr. Racadio and colleagues strive to develop new approaches and techniques for Image Guided Surgery, which can be practiced in the IR-TRSL and translated into clinical practice in the Hybrid OR.
Dr. Racadio graduated from medical school at the University of Cincinnati, where he also completed his residency. He completed his fellowship at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
