About

Jonas Redmond, MD, is a board-certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist who specializes in the treatment of a variety of medical conditions. He treats primary and metastatic liver cancer using various therapeutic techniques including radioembolization, thermal ablation, and chemoembolization. In addition, Dr. Redmond has unique training and extensive experience in the removal of inferior vena cava (IVC) filters, including complex removals. He also specializes in complex biliary procedures including biliary drainage, stenting, and endoscopy, treatments for portal hypertension including transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, therapies for lymphatic disorders, and the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Redmond was an assistant professor in the Division of Interventional Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently an associate professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine Department of Radiology in the Division of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Redmond completed his fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his radiology residency at Temple University School of Medicine, which is also where he completed his medical degree. Dr. Redmond is a member of multiple professional organizations including the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American Board of Radiology. Outside of work, Dr. Redmond enjoys time at the beach with his family, traveling, snowboarding, and live music.
