About
Dr. Martijn Meijerink studied medicine at Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) and has been affiliated with Amsterdam UMC since 2003, initially completing radiology training before joining the institution as a staff radiologist. His primary area of expertise is interventional radiology, with a particular focus on oncological interventional radiology and image-guided cancer treatments. In 2010, Dr. Martijn Meijerink earned his PhD with research titled "Novel Dynamic Imaging Techniques and Ablative Therapies for Metastatic Liver Disease." Since 2011, he has served as a training supervisor for the interventional radiology differentiation and fellowship program, helping to educate and mentor the next generation of interventional radiologists.
In addition to his clinical and educational responsibilities, Dr. Martijn Meijerink supervises multiple PhD candidates and serves as the principal investigator on several scientific research projects focused on minimally invasive, image-guided cancer treatments. His work is dedicated to advancing innovative interventional oncology techniques that improve outcomes and expand treatment options for patients with cancer.
