About
Dr. Nicole Keefe is the Intervention Radiology Residency Program Director and Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She has always been interested in innovating while helping patients. As the first person involved in medicine in her family, she found it to be an extremely rewarding career, seeing how quickly patients can improve with different minimally invasive therapies. Dr. Keefe completed her General Surgery internship, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology residency, and Interventional Radiology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. Following this, she spent over a year in private practice in Raleigh. She joined UNC’s Department of Radiology in January 2022 as Assistant Professor. She currently serves as Associate Program Director for Interventional Radiology. Dr. Keefe’s clinical interests include complex IVC filter removals and venous reconstructions, vertebral augmentation, women’s health, and endoleak treatment. Her research interests include education, pregnancy and vascular disease. She serves on the American College of Radiology expert panel on vascular imaging.
