Dr. Shivank Bhatia, M.D., FSIR is an internationally recognised expert in Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE), having performed over 1800 PAE procedures. He serves as chair of Interventional Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
He is one of the most experienced physicians in the United States offering PAE, a minimally invasive, non-surgical, image-guided outpatient procedure for treating an enlarged prostate. He has published the largest series of 1075 PAE patients to date – and made headlines at the Society of Interventional Radiology 2023 annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ when he presented results of the largest long-term North American study of men undergoing prostate artery embolization to treat urinary symptoms from an enlarged prostate. He also presented his research and experience to the US Congress, introducing PAE as a new frontier for men’s health.
