About
Dr. Stephen Wang received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Kentucky. He went on to Duke University School of Medicine, completing my Medical Degree in 2000. Dr. Wang joined the University of Hawaii for his transitional internship and then finished his Diagnostic Radiology residency at Stanford University Hospital. Dr. Wang joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006. In addition to English, he is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Dr. Wang went on to complete an interventional radiology/image guided therapy fellowship at The Dotter Vascular & Interventional Institute at the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, OR.
A few of his medical interests include oncologic interventions including chemo-embolization and radiofrequency ablation. He has authored several articles in basic science and clinical research. His research interests have been in molecular mechanisms of cellular signal transduction, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts (TIPS), hepatic venous outflow obstruction, and retrievable inferior vena cava filters. Dr. Wang was named a national Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Student Research fellow, 1998-99.
