About
Mary Fleming Ackenbom, MD, MSc, is a urogynecologist at University of Michigan Health and a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Michigan Medical School. She specializes in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, with clinical interests in treating pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, and other complex pelvic floor disorders. Her work focuses on helping women regain function and quality of life through individualized care and both surgical and non-surgical treatment options.
Dr. Ackenbom earned her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to complete fellowship training in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at UPMC. In addition to her clinical practice, she is involved in research and education aimed at improving care and outcomes for women with pelvic floor disorders.
