About
Dr. Uchenna Acholonu, Jr. is a gynecologic surgeon with fellowship training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. The option of minimally invasive surgery, when applicable, provides patients with less post-operative pain, shorter hospital stays and enables faster recovery. He also provides a wide range of general gynecologic care, including routine wellness, contraception, prevention and treatment of STDs, as well as evaluation and management of fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, and ovarian cysts.Dr. Acholonu has a special interest in the management of fibroids, endometriosis, and ovarian cysts. He offers his patients a range of medical and surgical treatment options for these conditions.Dr. Acholonu is a Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. He received his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Columbia University, his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. He completed his residency training at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. He then went on to complete fellowship training in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital. Dr. Acholonu joined NewYork-Presbyterian, Weill Cornell Medicine in 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
