About

Dr. Yamicia Connor founded Diosa Ara as a response to the medical racism and substandard care many women experience, and she continues to advocate for rigorous scientific principles to advance health equity. As a Black mother of three, she knows firsthand about the stresses that women face and is a vocal advocate for applying rigorous scientific principles to advancing health equity. Dr. Connor received SB degrees in Biology and Chemical/Biological Engineering and a minor in Biomedical Engineering from MIT in 2007. She received an MD from Harvard Medical School in 2016 and a PhD from MIT in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics in 2013. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2020. In 2021, she completed a Mongan Commonwealth Minority Health Policy Fellowship and obtained an MPH from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
