About
Michael Sherer, MD, is a radiation oncologist and co-leader of the Gastrointestinal Disease Team at Moores Cancer Center. He specializes in the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers as well as genitourinary cancer and prostate cancers.
As an assistant professor in the Division of Radiation Oncology he oversees medical student rotations and is an associate program director for the Radiation Oncology Residency Program. He also serves as chief of gastrointestinal radiation oncology.
Dr. Sherer is interested in developing novel education and training tools and serves as an associate editor of eContour, an open-access web-based interactive education resource for radiation oncology physicians worldwide.
He completed his residency at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he also earned his medical degree.
