About Dr. Alberto Pieretti

Dr. Alberto Pieretti, MD is a board-certified urologic oncologist at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, specializing in the surgical management of genitourinary malignancies. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, followed by a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Pieretti’s clinical expertise lies in high-volume robotic urologic oncology procedures. He is particularly skilled in performing robotic Retzius-sparing prostatectomy, which aims to enhance patients’ functional outcomes. His surgical repertoire also includes robotic radical cystectomy and robotic surgeries for kidney cancer, employing minimally invasive techniques to optimize patient recovery and outcomes.

An active contributor to urologic research, Dr. Pieretti has co-authored 24 peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations related to urological topics. His research interests encompass advanced and locally advanced kidney and bladder cancers, with a focus on developing animal models to study kidney cancer biology and exploring new treatment modalities.

Dr. Pieretti is a reviewer for both Urology and European Urology, leading journals in the field. He holds professional memberships in the American Urological Association (AUA), Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO), and the Florida Urological Society. As an active speaker, he regularly presents at national and international meetings, sharing insights on the management of genitourinary cancers.
