About Dr. David Canes
Dr. David Canes, MD, is fellowship trained in laparoscopic and robotic urology, having performed more than 1,200 robotic urologic procedures using the da Vinci® Surgical System. He also helps other surgeons learn the technique both regionally and abroad. Dr. Canes is the medical director of Parkland’s urology program, and focuses on minimally invasive and robotic surgery for urologic cancers, although his training also includes open surgery.
Dr. Canes received his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College in 2001. He then pursued an internship and fellowship at Lahey Clinic, followed by a fellowship at Cleveland Clinic. His clinical interests include kidney stones, laparoscopic and robotic repair of congenital blockages and ureteral strictures, minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, robotic surgery, and prostate oncology.
