Classifying and Working Up Chronic Venous Disease with CEAP, VCSS, and Villalta

Course overview

This course explores the entire clinical spectrum of deep vein thrombosis, from initial workup and patient selection for acute iliofemoral disease to the management of chronic post-thrombotic obstruction. The lessons review contemporary anticoagulation strategies, evolving practices in catheter-directed thrombolysis, mechanical and aspiration thrombectomy, and stepwise procedural techniques including popliteal and tibial access, intravascular ultrasound-guided stenting, and evidence from pivotal studies such as the ATTRACT trial, CLOUT registry, and DEFIANCE trial. Additional chapters cover chronic venous disease classification, inflow assessment, debulking and stenting decisions, as well as protocols for surveillance and long-term anticoagulation. Learn from Drs. Nicolas Mouawad, Raja Ramaswamy, Adam Raskin, Steven Abramowitz, Sabeen Dhand, and Christopher Beck.
