As medical director of the Emory Heart and Vascular Limb Preservation Program, his research efforts are concentrated on the optimal management of critical limb threatening ischemia, the role of drug-eluting endoluminal balloon angioplasty and stents for complex peripheral arterial disease, the endovascular management of acute limb ischemia, as well as the development of a novel system-wide protocol to expedite limb ischemia care.

Dr. Bailey received his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in his hometown of Detroit, MI. He is a double board-certified surgeon, completing his general surgery training here at the Emory University School of Medicine, with a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of South Florida.
