About
Dr. Jason Hoffmann is an associate professor at NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine. He decided to specialize in interventional radiology because it allows him to provide longitudinal care and procedural management to patients with a wide array of medical problems utilizing minimally invasive, image guided interventions. He specializes in kidney and liver tumor ablation, liver tumor embolization, inferior vena cava filter placement and removal, and embolization of noncancerous conditions (including benign prostatic hyperplasia, uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, varicoceles, pelvic congestion syndrome, and angiomyolipomas).
He has been twice awarded the Department of Radiology Attending of the Year by the diagnostic radiology residents. As the director of the diagnostic radiology residency training program, he is committed to serving as a role model and fostering valuable clinical interactions. He has also been selected to receive numerous awards from medical students, including Excellence in Mentorship, Humanism in Medicine, and Excellence in Teaching. In 2024, he was awarded the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine Distinguished Educator Award, which is the highest award given at the institution for sustained excellence and achievements in education.
He conducts research on improving patient outcomes relating to a variety of conditions and has presented findings at many major national and international diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology society meetings. He is actively involved in several medical societies, including the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, and the Association of Academic Radiology.
