About

Dr. Tateshima is fully trained in interventional neuroradiology, CNS endovascular surgery, and endovascular neurosurgery. He specializes in acute stroke interventions, complex vascular malformation, carotid artery disease, and brain aneurysm embolization using state-of-the-art, minimally invasive image-guided techniques. His research interests have focused on the biorheology of brain aneurysms, in vitro treatment simulation, and developing novel low invasive treatments. He has 140 peer-reviewed publications, 50 invited articles, 300 scientific abstracts, and holds several research grants. He has filed various patents on novel endovascular device coating, delivery systems, and a stroke treatment catheter design. He is currently involved in clinical trials of new treatments for stroke in the US. He received multiple awards for his research from national and international scientific societies. Dr. Tateshima is also a professor of radiology and neurosurgery at UCLA Medical Center and School of Medicine.
