About

Dr. Matthew Reeves is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of the DuPont Clinic, a private practice providing patient-centered abortion care in all trimesters. With the team at the DuPont Clinic, Dr. Reeves has worked to re-envision the private abortion experience for all patients without a waiting room, develop new shortened protocols for later abortion, improve moderate sedation techniques, and introduce new gynecologic instruments. Among notable service delivery changes, DuPont Clinic was the first practice to use lidocaine to induce fetal demise and the first North American practice to use cabergoline routinely to prevent breast pain.


After completing undergraduate studies in anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Reeves attended Harvard Medical School. He completed residency in obstetrics & gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He then completed fellowships in Clinical Ultrasound at UCSF followed by Complex Family Planning at the University of Pittsburgh. At UCSF, he completed the Advanced Training in Clinical Research program. At Pitt, he earned an MPH studying statistics, research methods, and decision modeling techniques.


After fellowship, Dr. Reeves joined the medical faculty at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine with funding from a NIH-funded K-award and where he served as Associate Fellowship Director and Director of the Center for Family Planning Research. From 2010-2014, Dr. Reeves was the Chief Medical Officer of WomanCare Global where his work focused on expanding use of manual uterine aspiration and introducing mifepristone and levonorgestrel implants to new countries. Subsequently, he was Medical Director of the National Abortion Federation where he worked to improve the quality of abortion care across North and South America. From 2010 to 2019, he served as the research mentor for the Fellowship in Family Planning at Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Reeves served as chair of the Planned Parenthood National Medical Committee after 8 years of service on the committee.
