About

Dr. David Cognetti, MD is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and is a member of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Cognetti received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology at Jefferson prior to returning to the University of Pittsburgh for a one-year fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery. He has over 22 years of experience.

Dr. Cognetti currently serves as Director of the Jefferson Center for Head and Neck Surgery as well as President for Pennsylvania Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
His clinical and research interests focus on less invasive approaches in the head and neck including transoral robotic surgery, endoscopic laser surgery, sentinel node biopsy, and sialendoscopy.
