About Dr. Elizabeth Koehne
Elizabeth (Betsy) Koehne, MD, is a UW Health urologist. She’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Koehne cares for patients with urinary tract (kidney, bladder, ureter and prostate) disorders. She specializes in treating urinary tract cancers, including penile and testicular cancer.
Dr. Koehne uses advanced tests to provide targeted treatment, including MRI-guided biopsies and bladder cystoscopies (a procedure in which she inserts a small camera to examine the bladder). She also performs minimally invasive procedures, such as robotic surgery, as well as traditional surgery.
Dedicated to serving her community, Dr. Koehne knew from a young age that she wanted to be a doctor. Recognizing that sickness impacts the whole family, she arms them with information. She partners with patients to help them understand their condition, review their options and make decisions about their care. She supports her patients throughout their healing journey, from diagnosis to recovery.
Additionally, Dr. Koehne studies new therapies for bladder cancer. Her research aims to make bladder cancer easier to treat.
